Steel Plant

Our small office for Steel Plant is tucked away at 64, Dwaipayan Pally, in the D. P. Nagar area. We are over in Belgharia, Kolkata, which is a pretty crowded and lively part of the city. Being in Kolkata means dealing with the humidity and the narrow streets, but we’ve made our home here. The post office is nearby at Belgharia, so that’s handy for our mail. We aren't some massive factory like the name might suggest to some. We’re more of a local operation running out of this neighborhood. The building is older, like a lot of the structures around Dwaipayan Pally. It has character, I guess you could say. We’ve got some desks pushed together and shelves full of documents. It’s not the quietest place because the neighborhood is always humming with people and rickshaws. We start the day with some chai and go through the list of things to do. Dealing with steel requires a bit of patience and some heavy lifting sometimes. We don’t put on any acts here. If you come by, you’ll see us just as we are, probably busy on the phone or checking a delivery. We’ve been here long enough that the locals know us. We aren't trying to change the world, just trying to run a decent business and keep the wheels turning. It’s a bit cramped sometimes, but it works for us and we get the job done without much fuss.
