Steel Fabs

Steel Fabs is tucked away on the third floor of a building at 5 Fancy Lane. If you know Dalhousie Square, you know how busy it gets around here. We’ve been up here for a while now, surrounded by old offices and the constant noise of the street below. Most days are spent dealing with various metal projects that come through the door. It isn't a fancy place despite the name of the lane. We just have our tools, our workstations, and a lot of work to get through. Climbing those three flights of stairs every morning really wakes you up. The office isn't huge, but we make it work for what we need to do. It gets a bit hot in the summer months, but we just keep the fans going and stay busy. People sometimes have trouble finding the entrance because the signs around Dalhousie Square are all jumbled together. We mostly just focus on the jobs we have in front of us. It’s a bit of a maze getting up here with all the other businesses in the building, but once you’re inside, it’s just us and the metal. We don't really do much in the way of decoration or anything like that. The walls are mostly covered in notes and old calendars. It’s a practical space for practical work. We’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit over the years, but our spot on the 3rd floor stays pretty much the same.
