Steel Enterprise

We are tucked away at 75/H/15 on Kailash Bose Street. If you know this street, you know it’s quite narrow and always full of people and carts. Steel Enterprise is a small operation, but we stay very busy. We have been in this neighborhood for a long time. The building is old, like most of them on this street, but it serves us well enough. We keep our steel stock inside, and it’s a bit of a puzzle to fit everything in sometimes. When a delivery comes, we have to move quickly to get the truck out of the way so it doesn't block the whole road. It’s a lot of manual work, carrying pieces in and out by hand. The neighbors all know us by now. We aren't a big corporation with departments and managers. It’s just a few of us making sure the orders go out correctly. The air in the shop smells like old iron and rain. We usually have the radio playing in the background while we work. People come in from the street looking for a few kilos of this or that. We weigh it up on the old scale and that’s it. It is a very basic way of doing business, but it has worked for us for years. We don't see any reason to change how we do things now as long as people keep coming through the door on Kailash Bose Street.
