Our office is inside the Techno World building in Mathurapur, which most people know because it's right by the cinema hall in Manikchak. We are basically operating out of Mahendra Nath Mandal’s space. Malda gets incredibly hot in the summer, so we try to get most of the heavy work done early in the morning before the sun really starts hitting the building. It is a bit of a dusty area because of all the movement near the cinema and the main road. Inside, it’s just a standard room with some files, a few computers that sometimes act up, and a lot of seeds. People from the nearby villages come in and out all day long. We don't have any corporate decorations or fancy rugs on the floor. It's a practical workspace meant for seed technology work, not for showing off. The address is in West Bengal, zip code 732203. Sometimes the electricity goes out for an hour or two, and we just sit and wait or talk to whoever is around. It is a very local vibe here. You can hear the sounds from the street and the occasional movie trailer if the cinema hall has its doors open. We just keep things moving as best as we can. It’s a decent place to work if you don't mind a little noise and the smell of the Malda air. We have been in this spot for a long time now.
