Our place is over at 9 M.D. Road. If you’ve ever been down this way, you know how crowded it gets with all the lorries and the people moving goods. It’s a loud area, but we’ve gotten used to the constant honking and shouting outside. The office itself is quite plain. We have some heavy desks and lots of ledgers piled up. Steel is heavy business, so there’s always a bit of grit on the windowsills. We spend our days tracking shipments and talking to people on the phone. Sometimes the paperwork gets a bit messy, but we eventually sort it all out. It’s a private limited company, but it feels more like a small family shop most of the time. We don't really do the whole corporate dress code thing. Most of us just wear what's comfortable for a long day of work. Lunch usually happens right at the desk while we keep an eye on things. The building is old, with high ceilings and fans that squeak a little when they’re on high speed. We’ve thought about moving to a modern area, but M.D. Road is where everything happens for the steel trade. It makes sense for us to stay right here where we can keep an eye on the market. It’s just a regular office doing regular work day in and day out. We just handle the steel and move on to the next thing.
