Span Agrochem Private Limited isn't a very large operation, to be honest. We run things out of B 211 Survey Park, which is a quiet enough spot in Kolkata near Santoshpur. If you’ve ever walked around Survey Park, you know it’s mostly houses and small offices. We’ve been here for a bit now. Our main thing is handling agro-chemicals, which sounds more complicated than it really is in the day-to-day. We spend a lot of time on the phone or sitting at the desks dealing with suppliers. It’s not like those shiny corporate offices you see in the city center. We’ve got stacks of files and the tea guy comes by twice a day. Sometimes the rains in Kolkata make the commute to the office a bit of a mess, but we show up anyway. We focus on getting the right chemicals to the people who actually need them for their crops. It’s a lot of checking labels and making sure the transport is on time. There’s about five or six of us usually around. We don't have any big speeches to give about what we do. It’s just work. People in the neighborhood know us as the ones who stay late sometimes when the shipments are coming in. We try to keep things simple and avoid the extra fluff.
