We are located over in Kalinarayanpur, right at Nitai Sarkar's place. It’s a local spot where things move at their own pace. Most days start with opening up the shutters and dusting off the glass cases where we keep the gold and diamond pieces. Nadia can get pretty warm in the afternoons, so we usually have the fan going full blast while we wait for neighbors to stop by. We aren't a big fancy showroom like you see in the city malls. It's just a simple shop where we show what we have in stock. Sometimes someone comes in looking for a ring because they're getting married, and other times it's just a grandmother wanting to fix a broken chain. We sit, we talk about the weather or the local news, and we look at the jewelry together. There’s no rush here. If we don’t have exactly what someone wants, we try to see if we can get it or if something else works. The diamonds are kept tucked away safe, but we bring them out when someone is serious about seeing them. It feels like home here because we know most people who walk through the door. We don't do big ads or anything like that. Just staying here and doing our work every day is how we spend our time. If the tea stall next door is open, we usually have a cup while we sort the inventory. It isn't much, but it's our daily life here.
