Shyam Steel Industries Ltd.

Our office is in Shyam Towers, specifically at En-32 in Sector-5 of Salt Lake. It’s a tall building, and being in a place like Salt Lake means we’re surrounded by a lot of other offices and IT hubs. Shyam Steel Industries Ltd. occupies a space that feels a bit more industrial than the neighbors, even though we’re mostly doing the admin and sales work here. The view from the windows isn't bad, you can see the traffic moving towards the main junctions. We have a lot of people coming in and out, mostly contractors or suppliers who have been working with us for years. The elevators in Shyam Towers can be a bit moody, so we sometimes end up waiting in the lobby for a while. Inside the office, it’s mostly the sound of keyboards and the occasional loud conversation about a delivery. We keep a stash of umbrellas by the door because the rain in Kolkata can catch you off guard. It’s a professional enough setup, but we’ve got our quirks, like the crooked shelf in the back and the clock that’s always five minutes fast. Most of us have been here a long time, so we know the best spots nearby for a quick lunch. The work is steady and involves a lot of coordination with the plants outside the city. It’s just how we spend our days, dealing with tons of steel from a desk.
