Sevavrati Farmers Producer Company Limited is located at House No-11 in Hribandh village. If you know the Bankura area, you know it can get quite hot and the soil has its own way of behaving. We are out near Amjhuri. This company is really just a bunch of local farmers who decided to pool our resources. It’s a lot of work keeping track of everything, but having a central spot at the house makes it easier. We don’t have a big corporate building or anything like that. It’s more of a community thing where neighbors come by to talk about the crops and how to handle the latest pests or the market prices. Sometimes the paperwork gets a bit much, but we manage. We’ve lived here for a long time and know these fields well. The idea is to make sure we aren’t getting pushed around by middle men too much. It’s hard to make a profit in farming these days, so being together as a producer company helps a bit. People stop by at all hours, usually with muddy boots. We don't mind. It’s just how things are in a place like Hribandh. We focus on what we can grow best in this Bankura soil. It’s not always easy, and some years are better than others depending on the monsoon, but we keep going. We are just regular people trying to do right by our land and our families.
