Sathyam Steel Roof Structures Ltd.

We run Sathyam Steel Roof Structures Ltd out of a flat in Uditi Apartment over in Krishnapur. It is AE-41/1, right in the Hanapara area of Kolkata. It might seem a bit unusual to have a steel roofing company based in a residential-looking building like B-201, but that is where we do all the planning and the paperwork. Most of our real work happens out on site, high up on top of buildings or factories where the roofs are being installed. Steel is heavy and tricky to work with, especially when the weather in Kolkata gets humid or rainy. We spend a lot of time looking at structural drawings and making sure the measurements for the trusses and sheets are exactly right. If the math is off by even a little bit, the whole roof won't sit right, so we have to be careful. The office is usually cluttered with samples of metal and various fasteners. It’s a small team here, so everyone ends up doing a bit of everything, from answering the phone to going out to check on a job site. We don't have a fancy corporate lobby or a receptionist in a suit. It’s just us working through the project list. We’ve been in the 700102 area for some time now and we know the local suppliers well. It is just steady, practical work that keeps the rain off people’s heads without any unnecessary bells and whistles attached.
