You can find us at 18/1, Maharshi Devendra Road. This part of the city is always crowded and busy. Sanjay Steel Trading Co. is right in the middle of it all. The building is older, like many others on this road. It’s a tight space, so we have to be very careful about how we store everything. The street is full of shops and people moving around constantly. It’s hard to find a quiet moment during the day. We have a small office at the front where we take orders and talk to people who walk in. It’s a bit cramped with all the ledgers and samples lying around. We don't have air conditioning, just a couple of ceiling fans that have seen better days. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we’re too busy to worry about that. Most of our customers have been coming to us for decades. It’s a very traditional way of doing business. We know everyone on the street by name. The traffic on Maharshi Devendra Road can be a nightmare in the afternoons, so we usually try to get our deliveries out early. It’s a lot of hard work, but we enjoy being part of the local community. There’s a certain energy to this area that you don't find elsewhere. We just keep our heads down and do what needs to be done. It’s not a fancy life, but it’s ours.
