Sani Tubes

We are located at 3, Jadunath Dey Road, right in the Bowbazar area. If you know this part of the city, you know it is always packed with people and the streets are very narrow. Our shop deals with all kinds of tubes and pipes. It is a dusty business, honestly. The pipes come in and we stack them up against the walls until someone buys them. Most of our days are spent loading and unloading stuff from the handcarts and small vans that manage to squeeze into the lane. It gets very hot during the monsoon because of the humidity, and the shop feels a bit cramped when we have a lot of stock. My desk is tucked in the corner behind a pile of iron fittings. We have been here for years, and the neighbors are all like family now. We drink a lot of tea from the stall across the street. The building is old, like most things in Bowbazar, and the stairs are a bit steep if you go up to the storage. We don't do much advertising; people just know we are here for their plumbing or industrial needs. Sometimes a customer comes in with a broken piece of pipe and we try to find a match. It’s manual work and my hands are usually a bit dirty by the end of the day. That is just how it is.
