Ramsarup Group

The office for Ramsarup Group is at 7-C, Kiran Shankar Roy Road, inside Hasting Chambers on the second floor. Hasting Chambers is a grand old building in Kolkata, and it has that heavy, solid feel to it. The ceilings are very high, and the windows are large, though they are usually covered with old blinds. We handle the administration and the group coordination from here. It is a busy spot because we are right in the middle of the legal and commercial hub. You can hear the trams and the traffic outside throughout the day. The office is filled with stacks of documents and heavy wooden furniture that is probably been there since the company started. We have a lot of people coming in and out for meetings, so the tea kettle is almost always on. It is not one of those modern glass offices you see in the newer parts of town. It is a bit darker and more serious. We spend a lot of time looking over production reports and talking to our different units. The staff here is like a small family; some of the people have been with the group for thirty years. We don’t bother with fancy decorations. We just have our calendars on the wall and the files we need. It is a functional place that carries the weight of many years of work. Sometimes the elevator is slow, so we just take the stairs to stay active.
