You can find us over at 16 Hari Das Daw Road in New Alipur. It’s a typical street, and we have been tucked away here for a while now. The space is filled with motors, electrical parts, and all kinds of testing equipment. Sometimes the street gets a bit crowded with trucks, which makes unloading a bit of a headache. We deal with engineering and electrical bits every single day. Some mornings are quiet, just sorting through inventory, and other days we don’t even have time to sit down for lunch. The walls are a bit faded and we have posters of old machinery hanging up. It’s not a corporate showroom; it is a working shop where real labor happens. We handle a lot of repairs that come in from the surrounding area. Usually, the air smells a bit like ozone and burnt oil. That’s just the smell of the trade. My father started this kind of work, and I just kept it going. We don’t use any fancy software for our day-to-day. We just use a ledger and our own experience to get things done. New Alipur is a good place to be, even if the monsoons make the road a bit messy. We just open the shutters in the morning and see what the day brings. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy enough to stay out of trouble.
