R Variety

R Variety is a small shop located on Sourav Ganguly Avenue in the Rajarhat Gopalpur area. We are near Kali Park in Kolkata, which is a place that sees a lot of people passing by every day. We carry a mix of different things, which is why we have variety in our name. You can find basic groceries, some toiletries, and maybe some school supplies for the local kids. I spend most of my day sitting at the desk waiting for the next person to walk through the door. It is a quiet existence but I like the routine of it. The shop isn't very large so we have to be careful about what we choose to stock on the shelves. We focus on things that people actually use every day in their kitchens or for cleaning. Sometimes we run out of certain things if the delivery truck is late, but that’s just how it goes sometimes. The neighbors are friendly and often stop by just to chat for a few minutes while they pick up their bread or milk. We try to keep the prices fair for everyone. The lights in the back sometimes flicker, and I really need to get that fixed one of these days. It’s just me and one other person helping out during the busy evening rush when people come home from the station. We don't have a website or any social media. It is just a humble business for regular people.
