If you’re looking for Bms Impex, we’re located at 37, Strand Road. You have to go around to the back side and come up to the 1st floor. It’s not the easiest place to spot from the street, but we like it that way. It keeps the noise of Strand Road down a little bit. We do importing and exporting, which means a lot of boxes and a lot of shipping labels. The office is usually stacked with samples and crates that are waiting to go somewhere. We have a small team here on the 1st floor. It gets a bit hot in the afternoons, especially when the sun hits the back of the building. We just turn on the fans and keep going. We don't have any of those fancy coffee machines or a lounge area. We just have a kettle and some biscuits in the cupboard. Most of our day is spent checking manifests and calling the docks to see where the containers are. It’s a lot of waiting and then a lot of rushing all at once. We don't use a lot of corporate jargon here. We just talk like normal people. If a shipment is late, we say it’s late and try to find out why. We’ve been at 37 Strand Road for a good while, and we’ve gotten used to the stairs and the way the light comes in through the windows in the evening.
