Our spot is over at 4 Ultadanga Main Road in Kolkata. If you know the area, you know it stays pretty crowded. Psssb Hydroponics Llp is basically about trying to grow things a different way. We aren't using traditional fields with deep soil. Instead, we’re focused on hydroponics, which is a bit of a learning curve for everyone involved. The office is right there on the main road, so it’s easy to find but can get noisy with all the buses and taxis going by. We spend a lot of time checking on water levels and making sure the plants are getting what they need. It’s a bit like being a scientist and a farmer at the same time, though we mostly just feel like regular folks trying to figure out a better way to produce greens in the city. Some people think it’s just a hobby, but we take it quite seriously even if we don't wear suits or have big boardrooms. The West Bengal heat can be tricky for indoor setups, so there is always something to fix or adjust. We don't have any fancy slogans or anything. We just like the idea of growing food where space is tight. It’s a lot of manual work, cleaning tanks and checking pipes, but seeing things turn green makes it worth the effort. We’re just local people doing something we find interesting and staying busy with the plants.
