Prosper Overseas,Kolkata

We’ve been working out of this spot in Hatiara (South) for a while now. It’s right near Purna Chandra Road, tucked away in the Ghuni area of Kolkata. Most days here are just us sitting around desks, talking to people who want to head abroad for school or some job. It gets pretty busy in the afternoons when students show up after their classes. We don’t have some big fancy glass office with a lobby. It’s just a normal room where we keep files and try to figure out the paperwork people need. Kolkata is a big city but this corner of 700059 feels like its own little neighborhood. You see the same people walking past every morning. Sometimes the internet is slow or the power goes out, and we just have to wait it out like everyone else. It’s not a corporate skyscraper thing, just a local office where we handle overseas stuff. We’ve seen a lot of kids grow up and move away, and then their younger siblings come in a few years later. It makes the days go by. We keep the place tidy, but it's got that lived-in look with stacks of paper everywhere. If you know the Ghuni area, you know how it is—quiet some days and totally jammed the next. We just keep doing what we do here in this part of town, one day at a time. I guess it's just our way of being here.
