We’ve been operating out of Calcutta for quite a few years now. Our daily routine involves talking to a lot of students and their parents who are trying to figure out where to go for school. It’s a lot of sitting around a desk with piles of brochures and application forms scattered everywhere. The phones ring quite a bit, especially when the exam results come out and everyone starts panicking about their future and where they might get in. We just try to listen and tell them what we know about the different colleges and courses available in the city and beyond. It's not a complicated business, but it takes a lot of time to keep up with all the changing rules and dates. The office is just a plain room with some filing cabinets and a few chairs for visitors to sit while they wait. We drink a lot of tea while we go through the paperwork and help people understand what they need to do next. Calcutta is a big city with so many options, and it can be really confusing for kids. We don't promise anything impossible; we just show them what the options are and help them fill out the forms correctly. Sometimes it's stressful when deadlines are close, but we’ve gotten used to that rhythm over the years. We just keep our doors open and try to be helpful to whoever walks in with a question.
