You can find us right near the Chanditala Auto Stand in Subhasgram. Being close to the park means there is usually some noise from kids playing or people chatting while waiting for their rides. Our office is a simple space where we spend our time looking over applications and talking to students who stop by. It’s a bit of a trek for some people coming from central Kolkata, but for those of us out here in the P.O. Subhasgram area, it’s home. The desks are usually covered in brochures and forms that need filling out. We don’t have a big receptionist or a waiting lounge with leather chairs. Usually, someone just grabs a plastic chair for a visitor. The fans overhead hum all day long to keep the heat away. We often walk over to the nearby shops to grab some snacks or a quick lunch. It’s a very local operation. Sometimes the power goes out for a bit, and we just sit and talk until it comes back on. It’s not a high-pressure corporate environment. We just try to help people figure out their next steps with their education. Most of the day is spent on the phone or typing away on some old keyboards. It’s a quiet life out here compared to the city center, and we like it that way. The 700147 area has its own charm, and we’re just part of the furniture around here now for a long time.
