Career Consulting

Career Consulting is a small office located at No. 6 Lower Range. It is not a huge place, just a quiet spot where we help people figure out their next steps for work. We have been here for a while and the office is pretty simple with just a few desks and some filing cabinets. Most of our day is spent talking to people who are looking for jobs or trying to change their careers. We look at a lot of resumes and try to give honest advice on what might work for them. Lower Range is a decent area, not too loud, which is good for the kind of conversations we have. We don't use any fancy software or big systems, just our own experience and a lot of talking. Sometimes the office gets a bit cluttered with folders and notes from different interviews. We don't have a big sign outside, just a small one so people know they’ve reached the right place. It’s a very human job, listening to what people want and seeing if we can help them find a path. We don't promise anything big, we just do the work of connecting people with opportunities. It’s just me and a couple of others here most days. We drink a lot of tea and keep the phone lines open for whoever needs to call. It is a straightforward way to spend the day, just trying to be useful to the people who walk in. We like the pace here.
