Prime Steel

You can find us at Prime Steel, located in the Sagar Estate at 2, N.C. Dutta Sarani. We are right near Gillander House, which is a big old landmark in this part of the city. Being in the steel business means our days are usually pretty heavy and full of physical work. The building itself has that old-school feel you get in this part of Kolkata. It isn't a modern glass tower; it's a place where real work happens. We handle a lot of metal, and things can get pretty dirty and noisy, but that is just the nature of the job. Most of us have been working with steel for years, so we know what we are doing without needing a handbook. The streets around N.C. Dutta Sarani are always packed with trucks and people moving goods, so it’s a constant bustle. We don't have a fancy showroom. If you come by, you’ll see us in our work boots, probably moving something or checking a ledger. It’s a straightforward business. We don't try to sound like a big corporate entity because we aren't one. We are just a local group of guys who understand the steel trade and try to get orders out the door without any mistakes. It’s hard work, and the heat in the summer can be tough, but we just get on with it. It’s what we know and what we do best.
