Down in Behala, Kolkata, at 291/A Diamond Harbour Road, you’ll find our office. Orind Refractory is all about materials that can stand up to extreme heat. It’s a very specific kind of business, and it’s not for everyone because it can get pretty hot and messy. We’ve been here in Kolkata for a long time, and we’re used to the humidity and the busy streets of Behala. The office is usually humming with the sound of fans and people talking about kiln linings and high-temperature bricks. We don't use a lot of fancy words to describe what we do. It’s just about making products that don't melt when things get really hot. Our team is a mix of older guys who have seen it all and younger ones learning the ropes. We don't have a big marketing team or a polished image. We just work hard and try to make sure our customers get what they need for their furnaces and ovens. Sometimes the traffic on Diamond Harbour Road is a complete mess, which makes getting things in and out a challenge. We just take it in our stride. It’s a tough industry, but it’s what we know. We aren't trying to change the world, just trying to provide solid refractory materials from our little corner of Kolkata. It’s honest work and we’ve been at it for years. Even when the monsoon rain hits hard, we keep the operations moving as best as we can.
