Travecare Holidays is situated on Old Calcutta Road. It’s a busy stretch of road with lots of trucks and buses passing by all day. Our office is a simple place. We’ve got a few desks, some chairs for people to sit on while they wait, and stacks of brochures that are probably a bit out of date. We handle holiday bookings, mostly for families nearby. It’s a family-run thing. My uncle started it and now a few of us work here together. We spend a lot of time checking train schedules and flight prices. It can be stressful when things get cancelled, but we just do what we can to fix it. We don't have any fancy software, just the usual websites and a lot of phone calls. The tea guy comes by twice a day and that’s usually the highlight of the afternoon. People in the neighborhood know they can just drop in and ask questions. We don’t mind. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there. We just want to make sure the tickets are right and the hotels are decent. Old Calcutta Road isn't the prettiest place, but it's where we are. We've been here for years and we know the people around us. It’s a steady job and we like the routine of the work. Most people are happy when they leave with their tickets in hand, and that’s enough for us.
