Travel Dreams

Travel Dreams is over at B 238 Bt Road. It’s a small office tucked into the building, and you can always hear the rumble of the buses passing by outside. We have a couple of desks with computers that are a few years old now. The walls have some old calendars and a few posters of places far away, but they are starting to curl at the edges. Most of the day is spent on the phone or typing out details for people. It gets a bit cramped when more than two or three people come in at once, but we make it work. The light from the front window is usually blocked by the traffic outside, so we keep the overhead lights on all day. We keep a stack of ledgers and notebooks on the side because sometimes the computer is just too slow. It’s a basic setup, nothing like those big corporate offices you see in the city center. We drink a lot of tea while we work, and the trash can is usually full of empty paper cups. People stop by to ask about trains or buses, and we do our best to find the info in the mess of papers on the desk. It’s just a regular job in a busy part of town, and we like the routine of it. We keep our doors open and wait for the next person to walk in.
