Our group is located right by the Nadanghat Bus Stand. It is a busy spot with people coming and going all day. Rafiur Rahaman Mondal is the one who handles things here, following the path of his late father, Ansar Mondal. We are a producer company, which mostly means we are a bunch of local farmers trying to get things done together. The name Mrittika means soil, and that is what our lives revolve around. We spend most of our time thinking about what the ground needs to grow better crops. Being near the bus stand makes it easy for people to find us when they need to talk. We don't have a big corporate headquarters, just a simple place where we can sit and do our books. It gets a bit noisy with the buses and the traffic, but we are used to it by now. We deal with all sorts of farming issues, from getting the right tools to figuring out the best time to plant. It is not an easy job, and there are many days where things don't go as planned. But we are a patient lot. We have been in Nadanghat for a long time and we know how the land works. We just take it one season at a time. No fancy speeches here, just a group of people working the soil and trying to make a living.
