We’ve been at F- 61 in New Market for a very long time. If you know the market, you know it’s always crowded and loud. Our shop is tucked away in one of the older lanes. It’s a small space and we’ve filled every inch of it with things we’ve collected. It’s a bit of a jumble, really. We have statues, old frames, and all sorts of art pieces stacked up. Sometimes it’s hard for two people to pass each other in the aisle. It’s dusty, and the smell of old wood and paper is everywhere. My father opened this place years ago, and I just kind of took over when he retired. I don’t have a fancy system for showing things. People just come in and browse through the stacks. Sometimes they find something they like, sometimes they don’t. I spend a lot of my day sitting on a stool near the front, watching the people go by outside. I drink a lot of tea from the stall across the way. We don't do any advertising or have a social media page. Most people find us because they were walking past or their parents told them about us. The building is old, so the walls are a bit cracked and the floor is uneven. It has character, though. I like being part of the market. It’s where I’ve spent most of my life. We close up when it gets dark.
