Artist Mukherjee'S World Of Creativity is really just me working out of Flat No 102 in the Sheila Vena building. It’s my home and my workspace all rolled into one. When you walk in, you’ll see brushes and paints and canvases everywhere. I don’t really have a separate studio, so the living room is usually taken up by whatever I’m painting at the time. The light in Sheila Vena is pretty good in the afternoons, which helps when I'm trying to get the colors right. It’s not a gallery where everything is neat and clean. There are splatters on the floor and stacks of finished work leaning against the walls. I’ve lived here for quite some time now. My neighbors know what I do because they see me carrying supplies up the stairs. It’s a bit cramped sometimes but it’s where I feel comfortable. I don't follow a strict schedule. Sometimes I’m up late working and other times I’m just sitting with a cup of tea looking at a blank page. People who come over are usually friends or someone who heard about my work from a neighbor. It’s a very personal way to live. I don’t have a big staff or a marketing plan. I just create things and hope they find a home somewhere else. The flat is small but it holds everything that matters to me and my work. It’s just a quiet place where I can be myself and paint.
