Mou Variety Stores

Mou Variety Stores has been around the Rajarhat Gopalpur area for quite some time now. You can find us right on the Main Road, just near Kali Park in Kolkata. It is a busy spot but we manage to keep things moving throughout the day. We basically keep all the small things people need for their houses. From pens to snacks and sometimes light plastic items, it’s all here on the shelves. Most of the folks around the 700136 zip code know where we are because they stop by on their way home from work. We open early in the morning and usually stay open until late in the evening. My family helps out with the shifts because it gets crowded sometimes and one person can't handle it all. The shelves are a bit tight but we know where everything is kept even if it looks messy to a stranger. If someone asks for a specific brand of soap or a certain notebook, we usually have it in the back if it is not currently on display. It is not a very big place but we make do with what we have. Dealing with the traffic and noise on the Main Road is just part of the day for us. Sometimes the rains make it a bit messy outside near the entrance, but we clean it up as fast as we can. We like talking to the regulars who have been coming here for years. It's just a simple shop where you get what you need.
