You can find Monishan Impex Private Limited over in Beliaghata. We are at P-15, C.I.T Road Scheme-X(M) on the first floor. The building is right there on the main road so it’s easy to spot once you get to the right section of C.I.T Road. We do import and export work, mostly dealing with different goods that people need. It’s just a regular office setup with a few computers and a lot of tea being drunk throughout the day. The traffic outside can get pretty loud, but we’ve grown used to the sound of the horns and buses. We aren't a big firm with hundreds of employees. There are just a few of us who handle everything from the orders to the shipping details. Sometimes we stay late when a shipment is delayed at the port. It’s not always easy, but it’s the work we chose. We don't go in for fancy titles or corporate meetings. We just sit around the main table and figure out what needs to be done for the week. The 1st floor office gets a good breeze when we open the windows, which is nice in the summer. We’ve been running things this way for several years now. We know our neighbors in the building and we help each other out when needed. It’s a simple, honest way to run a business in Kolkata. The elevator in the building works most of the time, but we usually take the stairs anyway.
