Down here at 3, Portuguese Church Street, things move at a steady pace. It is an old part of the area, and the church nearby gives us a bit of a landmark so folks don't get lost trying to find us. We work with tractors, which means a lot of technical talk and looking at parts lists most of the day. It’s not exactly quiet work, but we enjoy the rhythm of it. The office isn't anything special to look at, just some sturdy desks and a lot of filing cabinets that have seen better days. We spend a lot of time talking to farmers and mechanics who need specific things for their machines. Sometimes the deliveries arrive late because the street is narrow and trucks have a hard time squeezing through, which can be a bit of a headache for everyone involved. We’ve all been working together for a long time, so we pretty much know who is doing what without having to ask. Lunch is usually a quick affair at our desks or the little stall around the corner. We aren't trying to change the world or anything, we just want to make sure the tractors stay running and people get what they ordered. It is honest work and it keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday. Portuguese Church Street has its own charm, even when it’s raining and the gutters are overflowing.
