Sunshine International

Sunshine International is tucked away on the 5th floor of Number 1, British India Street. If you’re looking for us, we’re in Room No. 506. It’s one of those old buildings where the walls are thick and the hallways are a bit dim. The elevator is one of those old-fashioned ones that rattles a bit, so some of us just take the stairs for the exercise, though five floors is a lot in the humidity. British India Street has a lot of history, and you can feel it when you walk through the doors. Our room isn't huge, but we’ve managed to fit all our files and desks in there. It’s a bit of a squeeze when more than three people are standing up at once. We do international business, but from a very local setting. The window looks out over other rooftops and you can see the tops of the trees if you lean out a bit. It gets pretty loud with the street sounds drifting up, but you stop hearing it after an hour or so. We spend most of our time on the phone or writing out invoices. There’s no fancy branding on the walls, just a calendar and some notes tacked up with tape. We’re just a small group of people trying to keep things running smoothly. It’s not a glamorous life, but it’s our life. We’ve been in Room 506 for years and don't plan on moving anywhere else anytime soon. The tea guy comes at eleven.
