Mohan Impex

Our office is up on the 14th floor of the Chatarjee International Centre, Suit No-A-4. Being at 33A Chowringhee Road means we are right in the middle of everything. It’s a very tall building and the view from the windows is actually pretty good, though we are usually too busy with paperwork to look out much. We do import and export work, which mostly involves a lot of computer time, phone calls, and dealing with documents. It’s a different world up here compared to the busy streets below. The elevators take forever sometimes, especially during the lunch rush. The office is a bit cramped with files and samples of things we move back and forth. We’ve been in this building for a long time. It’s a professional enough space, but it definitely feels lived-in, with coffee mugs on the desks and stacks of paper that need filing. We handle a lot of coordination for people, making sure items get where they need to go without too many hiccups. It’s not very exciting work to talk about, but it keeps us busy from morning till evening. We are just a small team trying to keep all the shipments on track. It takes a lot of double-checking details and staying on top of the emails. Being in a big centre like this makes it easy to stay connected with the city.
