You can find us at 20, British Indian Street. It’s an old part of the city, and the streets can be quite narrow and crowded. Our office is right in the middle of all that history. We work with ispat, which is just another word for steel. Most of our day is spent talking to people at the plants or dealing with buyers who need bulk materials. It’s not a glamorous job, but steel is needed for almost everything, so we stay busy. The building has that old-school feel to it, and sometimes the elevators are a bit slow, but we don't mind. We’re a group of people who just understand the metal business. We don't use big words or try to impress anyone with marketing talk. If we have the stock, we tell you. If we don’t, we try to find out when it’s coming. It’s about being practical. Sometimes we stay late to finish up the billing or to make sure a delivery is on track for the next morning. British Indian Street is a lively place to be, with plenty of tea stalls nearby where we take our breaks. We’ve been here for a while, and we know most of the neighbors. It feels like a community. We just keep our heads down and do the work that needs doing. It’s just how things are at Maithan Ispat. No fuss, just steel and hard work every day. It is what it is.
