Mahabir Plastic Industries

Mahabir Plastic Industries is located at 10 Pollock Street. It’s right in the heart of the commercial district. The street is narrow and always packed with people and deliveries. We’ve been here for years, and the building has that old-school feel. We aren't a massive factory; we operate out of a more traditional space. Most of what we do involves plastic products for the local market. It’s a lot of manual work, moving bags and sorting items. We don't have air conditioning, just some old ceiling fans that clatter a bit. The office is really just a desk in the corner where we keep the bills and the phone. We don't spend money on fancy furniture or big signs. People know where we are because we’ve been here so long. My uncle started this place, and I’ve been here since I was a teenager. We’ve seen the neighborhood change, but our routine stays pretty much the same. We open up early, check the stock, and start the day. It’s a lot of talking to vendors and making sure the orders are right. Sometimes we make mistakes, but we always try to fix them as soon as we can. We don't pretend to be something we're not. We’re just a small business on Pollock Street trying to keep things moving. It’s a busy life, but it suits us and we like being here. That's about it.
