C. S. Industries

Up on the third floor of 285B B. B. Ganguly Street, that is where C. S. Industries operates. It's an old building, like many in this part of town, so you have to climb the stairs to get to us. We’ve been based here for many years now, watching the street change while we keep doing our usual industrial work. The space is a bit tight with all the equipment and materials packed in, but we have a system that works for us. Most of the day is spent handling orders and making sure the production stays on track. Being on the third floor means it stays a little quieter than the street level, but we still hear the city noise coming through the windows. We don't have a big reception area or anyone to answer phones all day. Usually, whoever is free just picks it up. We do a variety of manufacturing tasks, depending on what the customers need that week. It is a lot of hands-on labor and keeping an eye on the details. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there. We just want to do the work properly so we can come back and do it again tomorrow. It’s a bit cramped sometimes when we get a large shipment of raw materials in, but we manage. That is just how it is working in an older part of the city. We usually close up once the light starts to fade.
