I’ve been based here at 68/25 Jeshore Road in the Motijhil area for quite some time. It’s a lively part of Kolkata, especially being so close to Nager Bazar and Amarpally. My place is tucked away, but you can always hear the horns and the general rush of the main road nearby. Most of my day is spent right here, surrounded by piles of papers and books that never seem to get smaller. People around here know me just as someone who works from home and handles these sessions. It’s not a big office or a corporate setup, just a room where we can sit and talk through the subjects. Sometimes the heat gets a bit much in the afternoons, so we keep the fans going at full speed. I started doing this because there was a need in the neighborhood for someone to help out with the curriculum. It’s not always easy, and some days I wonder where the time goes, but then a student finally understands a difficult chapter and it feels okay. The walk from the main road isn't too long, and there are always people moving about, so it feels safe and busy. I don't really do any advertising or anything like that. People usually find out about me through word of mouth or by just seeing the address. It’s a simple life, focused on teaching and staying organized in this little corner of the city.
