Maa Sitala Steel Stores

Our store is located at 1A, Raja Subodh Mallick Square. If you’ve ever walked around the square, you know it’s a busy place with a lot of history. Our building is old, and the walls are thick, which is good for holding all the steel we keep inside. We have stacks of rods and sheets leaning against the walls. It’s heavy stuff, so we’re always careful when we’re moving things around. The floor is scratched up from years of dragging metal across it. We don't have a fancy showroom. It’s just a place where steel is stored and sold. Most of the time, the air is full of that sharp metallic smell. We get a lot of workers and builders coming in through the front door. They know what they want, and we just get it for them. There’s a lot of shouting back and forth to make sure the orders are right over the noise of the traffic outside. The square is always full of people, so there’s never a dull moment. We have a small desk near the entrance where we keep the ledger. It’s an old-fashioned way of doing things, but it works for us. We’ve seen many businesses come and go around the square, but we’ve stayed put, just moving steel day in and day out. It’s nothing glamorous, just a lot of heavy lifting and making sure the inventory is where it should be.
