Ma Tara Aluminium

Ma Tara Aluminium is located at 59, Roy Mullick Colony. If you come by, you’ll see stacks of aluminium sections leaning against the walls. The place is basically one large room with a high ceiling that traps the heat in the summer. It’s noisy because cutting aluminium makes a high-pitched sound that travels right out into the colony. We try to be mindful of the neighbors, but work is work. The floor is covered in silvery dust and little scraps of metal that we sweep up at the end of every week. It’s a small operation. Most of the time, it’s just a couple of us handling the saws and the drills. We don’t have a website or a big marketing team; people just know we are here at number 59. The door stays open to let the air circulate, and you can see the local kids playing in the street while we work. It’s an honest way to make a living. We don’t talk about being the best; we just focus on not wasting material and getting the cuts straight. Sometimes the inventory gets a bit messy, and we have to spend a whole afternoon just sorting through the piles to find what we need. It’s a simple life in a regular colony, and we’ve been part of this street for long enough that the postman doesn't even look at the sign anymore.
