You can find us on the ground floor of Novel Plaza in Kolkata. Being on the ground floor is handy because we don’t have to wait for the elevators, which can be a pain in some of these older buildings. Danieli India Limited has been in this spot for a while now. The area around Novel Plaza is always humming with people and cars, so there’s plenty of energy outside our windows. Inside, it’s a bit more organized, though we do have piles of manuals and technical reports everywhere. It’s a typical city office—a bit cramped sometimes but we make it work. The light isn't always great, but we’ve got good lamps and plenty of tea to keep us going. We spend most of our time dealing with the engineering side of the steel industry, looking at blueprints or talking to the teams out at the sites. It’s a busy atmosphere. Sometimes it gets a bit loud when the heavy traffic starts up in the evening, but that’s just part of being in this part of West Bengal. We don’t really do anything fancy here; it’s just desks, computers, and a lot of talk about metallurgy and plant designs. Most people who visit us are here for business, so we keep things straightforward and move through the tasks as they come. It’s a solid place to work with a regular team of people.
