M. G. Metal Works

M. G. Metal Works is located in Villpost- Boral, within the Sonarpur area. We are way out in the South 24 Parganas district. It is more of a rural setting compared to the big city. Our workshop is a simple structure where we do all our metal fabrication and repair work. You can hear the sound of hammers hitting metal from down the road. It’s a hot and sweaty job, especially during the summer months when the sun beats down on the roof. We have various welding machines and cutters scattered around the floor. There are always pieces of scrap metal and iron rods lying in the corners. Boral is a quiet place, so we know most of our neighbors. They often stop by just to say hello or to ask us to fix a small tool for them. We don't have a fancy office or a showroom. If you want to see what we do, you just stand in the doorway and watch the sparks fly. The ground is mostly dirt and concrete, and we don't mind getting our clothes dirty. We work according to the daylight mostly. When it rains heavily, the sound on the metal roof is so loud we can't even hear each other talk. It’s a basic life here in Sonarpur. We focus on the work at hand and making things that last. It is a local business run by people who live right here in the village and understand the local needs.
