We're located right over at Plot No. 8757, which is part of the Kumargram Tea Garden area in New Lands. Being here in Jalpaiguri means we're surrounded by greenery and the tea estates, which really defines the kind of work we do at Kumargram Farmers Producer Company Limited. It's a unique spot, and the air is usually pretty fresh, though the work can be quite tiring. We aren't some big operation with a glass building. We're just a bunch of people who care about the land around the tea garden and the crops we produce. Sometimes it feels like there’s never enough time in the day to get everything done, especially when the seasons are changing. We talk to the local farmers every day, hearing about their problems and trying to find ways to make things a little easier for everyone in the collective. It's mostly about the community here. We handle a lot of the logistical stuff that individual farmers find hard to do on their own. It isn't always smooth sailing, and we definitely have our share of long days where nothing goes quite right. But that’s just part of the job when you’re dealing with agriculture in a place like this. We just want to keep things moving forward for the families living around Kumargram. It's a quiet life, mostly, but we stay focused on the work at hand at the tea garden and try to make sure we are ready for the harvest.
