Kaustav Raha

Kaustav Raha lives and works right here at 105 Kabi Nabin Sen Road. If you know the Kazi Para area, we are not hard to find at all. It is a typical old Kolkata house with those thick walls and high ceilings that keep things a bit cooler in the summer. There isn't a big staff here, just Kaustav and a bit of help with the daily tasks. The room where we meet people is filled with books and old files piled up in the corners. It's not a corporate office at all, so don't expect any glass partitions or shiny floors. There is a small balcony out front where you can see the street life below. Sometimes the doorbell rings constantly and other times it is very quiet. We usually have some tea on the stove and the smell of cooking from the neighboring houses drifts in through the windows. The local kids play football in the lane outside in the evenings, so it can get a little loud then. It is a very lived-in space. People come here for various reasons, mostly just seeking some advice or help with their work. We don't really have set office hours in the strict sense, but someone is usually around if you drop by. It’s just a normal person’s home being used for work, kept simple and honest without any extra frills or fuss.
