Kalpana Biswas

Kalpana Biswas is based over in Ghoshpara, which is in the Kolkata - 700052 area. It is a quiet enough spot compared to the really big intersections. We have a small setup here. It is mostly just about getting the daily tasks done without too much fuss. People in Ghoshpara know us mostly by word of mouth. We do not do a lot of shouting about what we do. We just stay at our location and wait for the work to come. The atmosphere is pretty relaxed. Sometimes the neighbors stop by just to say hello or ask a quick question. It is that kind of place. We have been here for a while, and the walls have a few scuffs, but that shows we actually work here. It is not a showroom. It is a place of business. We handle everything ourselves. There are no big managers or fancy departments. If something needs doing, we just do it. The street outside can get a bit muddy when it rains, but that is just Kolkata for you. We keep the inside tidy and focus on the people who come through the door. It is a simple life and a simple business. We are glad to be part of the Ghoshpara community. It feels right to be working in a place where people actually know your name. There is always a stray cat or two hanging around the porch.
