Our office is tucked into Duckback House on Shakespeare Sarani. If you know Kolkata, you know this area is always busy with traffic and people rushing around. We occupy space 3A and it’s a pretty standard setup for a steel company branch. We handle the business side of Jindal Steel & Power from here. It gets noisy outside with the horns honking, but inside we are just focused on the contracts and the numbers. We aren't trying to be fancy even though the address sounds important. Mostly, it’s about making sure the orders from the plants get processed and the clients in the city get what they need. It’s a mix of old city charm and the hard reality of the industrial sector. We have been in this building for a bit, and the staff knows the tea stall downstairs better than anything else. There is a lot of paper moving across desks every day. We deal with the power side of the business too, which keeps us pretty occupied. Sometimes the lifts in these older buildings act up, but we manage. It’s just a place of work where we try to stay on top of the schedules. No one here is wearing expensive suits every day; it’s more about getting the job done and heading home through the Kolkata rain. We don't spend time on big speeches about what we do. We just do it. It is just an honest day's work for everyone here.
