Our office is tucked away at 10 Clive Row. If you know this part of the city, you know how narrow and crowded the streets can get during the day. J.De & Co (Refractories) Pvt. Ltd. has been operating out of this space for a long time. The building itself has that old feeling, with thick walls and high ceilings that keep it a bit cooler than the street outside. We handle refractory materials, which isn't the most exciting thing to talk about at dinner, but it’s what we know. Most of the files here are kept in big steel cabinets, and there’s a certain rhythm to the way we do things. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there. We just want to make sure the orders are correct and the transport is lined up. Clive Row is full of history, and sometimes it feels like our office is a small part of that. We drink a lot of chai while looking over the ledgers. It gets noisy with the traffic outside, but once you close the door, it’s just us and the work. No one here wears a suit unless they absolutely have to. It’s more about being comfortable and getting through the stack of papers on the desk. We’ve had the same neighbors for years, and that familiarity makes the workday go by a little easier. We aren't fancy, just a group of people doing their jobs in an old building.
