Working at the Sodepure location for Jai Balaji Industries Limited is pretty straightforward. We are tucked away in the industrial belt of North Kolkata. The railway line is close enough that you can hear the trains passing all day long. It's a busy atmosphere with a lot of movement. We deal with the heavy side of the business here. Lots of loading and unloading. The ground is usually covered in scrap and dust. We don't have a polished front office. If you come by, you’ll see us in our work clothes, likely covered in a bit of soot. It’s a humid place, especially during the monsoon when the roof leaks a tiny bit in the corner. We just put a bucket under it and keep moving. Our days start early before the sun gets too high. We have a routine that hasn't changed much in years. We focus on the iron and the output. Some people might find it noisy, but for us, it is just the sound of a normal day. We don't go in for big mission statements. We just try to get the orders sorted and out the gate on time. There are no corporate perks, just hard work and the occasional break for a cold drink. It is a rough and ready kind of life. We like it because it is honest. It's just a bunch of guys keeping the industry moving.
