Ispat Udyog

Our place is on the 1st floor at 22, Rabindra Sarani, specifically in Block NS-6. If you know this part of town, you know it’s always crowded and full of life. The streets are narrow and there’s always someone hauling something past the entrance. We’ve been in this building for years, and it has that old Kolkata feel to it. It’s not a modern glass tower, but it’s sturdy and serves us well. We do a lot of business in metals and industrial goods here. The office is usually piled high with ledgers and samples. It can get pretty loud with the traffic outside, but we don't notice it much anymore. We have tea brought in a few times a day, which is when we actually stop to talk for a minute. Most of our work is about connecting people with the materials they need for their projects. We don't have a big reception area or anything like that. You just walk in and someone will be there at a desk to help you out. It’s a practical setup. We know the neighbors and the local shops, and that makes it feel like a community even though it’s a business district. Sometimes the stairs are a bit much if you’re carrying a heavy load, but we manage. It’s just a hardworking spot in a very old, busy part of the city where we've built some good relationships over the years and keep things simple.
