Indo Arts & Crafts is located at 73 Bikramgarh. It is an old building that has been our base for a long time. When you walk inside, it feels a bit like stepping into a different era. Every room is packed with different kinds of handicrafts, from wooden carvings to hand-woven textiles. There isn't much of a system to how things are arranged, so you might find a beautiful vase sitting next to a box of old tools. We work directly with many local artisans, so there is always something new arriving, even if we don't have space for it. The air always has a bit of a dusty, woody smell, which we have grown to like. We don't have many employees, just a couple of people who have been here since the start. We don't do any big advertising or have a fancy website. People usually hear about us from their friends or family and then spend an hour or two wandering through the rooms. The street outside is quite narrow and can get very busy, especially in the evenings. We often sit near the front door to catch whatever breeze comes through. It is a very informal place. We might be having tea when a customer walks in, and we just tell them to take their time looking around. It is not a high-pressure environment at all. We just appreciate the work the craftsmen do and try to find a home for their items.
