Hari Om Traders

You can find us over at 22A on L. M. Bhattacharya Road. It’s a narrow enough street and the traffic can be a real headache when we are trying to unload goods. We run Hari Om Traders as a simple wholesale and retail point, mostly dealing with whatever inventory we have in stock at the time. The building is older, so it has that specific smell of concrete and stored goods. We don't spend much on decorating the place because we need the space for crates and boxes. Most of the time, I'm checking lists against what actually arrived on the truck, and there's usually a mistake or two that needs sorting out. It’s a lot of lifting and moving things around to make room for new arrivals. The neighbors are mostly other businesses, so there’s a lot of shouting back and forth across the street. We don't have a big marketing plan; people just know we’re here on the road and they stop by when they need something. It gets pretty stuffy inside during the afternoons, so we usually sit near the front door to catch whatever breeze there is. It’s just regular trade work, keeping track of the money and making sure we don’t run out of the popular items. We just keep our heads down and get the job done.
